October 11, 2005 Posted by UltraVision CLPL

Leighton Buzzard based contact lens manufacturer UltraVision CLPL, will be launching their new generation KerasoftTM DuraWave® contact lens for Keratoconus patients at the Hospital Optometrists Annual Conference in Kenilworth, Warwickshire on 28th - 30th October 2005. KerasoftTM DuraWave® provides the Keratoconic and Post-Graft patients an enhanced alternative to rigid gas permeable lenses by enabling them to experience superior vision, whilst still enjoying all the other benefits of soft lenses, including good comfort and longer wearing times.
UltraVision CLPL use a clinical eye model based on wavefront technology studies during which many aberrometer readings were taken. Their patented SAM® aberration management calculation system is then applied to the eye model to produce an optimised aberration control design to produce the advanced optics. The result is applied to their established KerasoftTM design to produce the new generation KerasoftTM DuraWave® lens.
“Our Kerasoft™ soft lens is widely prescribed for vision correction in Keratoconus cases throughout the UK, mainland Europe and the Middle East. Through our continuous innovative research programme, we are excited to have been able to improve this popular lens even further by incorporating our new wavefront technology, now offering the Keratoconus patient and the Post-Graft patient the best of both worlds; good comfort and superior vision”, says John Lyon, Group Sales Manager.
UltraVision CLPL is a world leading contact lens technology innovation company, specialising in developing new and leading edge technology to produce a wide range of soft disposable, durable and RGP contact lenses using both cast-moulded and the latest in lathe cutting systems. UltraVision CLPL supplies to contact lens professionals only.
