Queenӳ Award ֠Two Years On

September 12, 2008 Posted by UltraVision

UltraVision was delighted to host on Wednesday 10th September a top official from the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise office. David Moore, Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Advisory Committee, joined the Town Mayor of Leighton-Linslade Cllr George Rolfe, Richard Lacy, Chief Executive, The Chamber of Commerce, Bedfordshire and Michael Gribb, UK Trade & Investment.

The reasons for the visit were to celebrate the increasing success of UltraVision and to highlight the Queen’s Awards to all businesses as this year there were no winners from Bedfordshire. Mr Moore believes that with so many vibrant and innovative businesses in the East of England and throughout the United Kingdom more companies should aim to attain this highest level award.
Since winning the Award, under the Innovation section, for UltraVision’s Wavefront Technology and SAM® (Spherical Aberration Management), the company has gained an elite Rugby endorsement as Official Supplier to the Professional Rugby Players Association (PRA), supplying UltraWave lenses and enabling all England and professional Premiership players to benefit from clearer vision with UltraVision contact lenses.
During his presentation, J Keith Lomas, UltraVision’s CEO, said “Our business has advanced at an even greater rate since winning the Queen’s Award by increasing organic growth through providing superior products, gaining new distributors across the globe, signing licensing deals with large contact lens manufacturers and further corporate acquisitions.  Winning the Queen’s Award has helped the company build confidence, both internally and externally, and it feels great!”
Fuelling the organic growth, UltraVision has recently launched ‘The Full Collection’, a whole family of Silicone Hydrogel (“SiH”) lenses covering all possible parameters and making SiH now available for everyone.  Another World’s First was the launch of KeraSoft®3, an SiH contact lens for Keratoconus patients with a unique combination of advanced material, design and patented optics, all manufactured in the UK.
