Firestone Optics, Inc and Lens Dynamics, Inc Merge

Kansas City, MO (December 15, 2009) – Lens Dynamics Inc. and Firestone Optics Inc. announced today that they have agreed to merge. Effective January 1, 2010, Lens Dynamics will become a wholly owned subsidiary Firestone Optics Inc. Al Vaske will continue in his current role as President of Lens Dynamics. Kathy Vaske will continue as head of Lens Dynamics customer service. Both will continue to be based in Denver, CO.
Lens Dynamics has established a line of unique semiscleral and multiquadrant (Quad) GP lenses intended for corneal dystrophy patients, along with very effective and well accepted keratoconus lenses. Manufacturing of the Lens Dynamics specialty GP contact lenses will be transferred to Firestone’s Kansas City, Missouri laboratory. 
Firestone Optics is a privately held corporation in Kansas City, Missouri. Firestone’s award winning manufacturing facility is ISO and CMDAS certified. They manufacture the Tangent Streak Family of lenses in addition to many specialty and GP single vision lenses. They are also an authorized distributor of all major brands of soft contact lenses.
This merger is a win-win, wherein the combined customers and patients of these two leaders are better served through the improved manufacturing expertise and range of design options available for fitting complex patient contact lens needs.
