2019 is off to a busy start for the CLMA and GPLI

It's hard to believe that it's spring already, but 2019 is off to a busy start for the CLMA and GPLI.  Planning is well underway for our joint workshops with the Scleral Lens Education Society; initial interest from CLMA and SLS sponsors has been great and early indications are that this should be an outstanding series of events for both organizations.  Four student workshops (UC Berkeley, SCCO at Ketchum University, University of Houston and UMSL) are being coordinated for this inaugural year.

The newly formed Board of Directors of the GPLI has met and elected Ed Bennett as President.  Ed will be responsible for taking the GPLI in its new direction and creating the organizational resources that we will need to better meet the needs of tomorrow's fitters, educators and students - the GPLI couldn't be in better hands!  Other Board members are Josh Adams, Derrell James, Daren Nygren, Jan Svochak and myself.

As you'll see below, George Mera and the GP Lens Committee continue their excellent work, among other things organizing the GP Clinical Excellence Awards and the GPLI Residents Educational Symposia weekend.

Stop by clma.net and have a look at our new website.  Ron, Pam and Josh have done an excellent job of refreshing our look and putting our best face forward.

2019 is already looking to be another banner year for the GPLI and CLMA.  Interest in specialty lenses is greater than ever - thanks to everyone for putting in the extra effort keeping our industry organization strong and relevant in these exciting times.
